Home Theater Systems
Installing home theater systems can be a little tricky if you do not have much technical knowledge on such devices. If your system does not work after setting it up, troubleshoot the devices first before you call for home theater repair from technical support teams or electricians near your place. This will give you ample knowledge about the nature of the electrical problem you're dealing with and if you are lucky, such actions might even resolve the issues at hand.
Home Theater Troubleshooting
• Nothing Powers On – Assess all connections if they are plugged securely. If you are using an automatic voltage regulator, make sure that it is plugged into the power source and switched on.
• No TV Reception – Check if the cable, satellite box, or antenna is properly linked to your TV set and if it is turned to the right channel designated to your district.
• Poor Picture Quality – A snowy or coarse picture will be displayed on your screen if you use old or substandard cables or if cables are not connected firmly. If you are utilizing a Cable subscription, call your service provider and inform them about the issue. Conversely, if you are using an antenna, adjust its placement to acquire better reception.
• Inappropriate or No Color – Assess the color setting of your TV set if it is well tuned. If this does not resolve the problem, check its connections to your DVD player.
• High Definition Multi-media Interface (HDMI) is Not Working – Any device linked to a HDMI-equipped television should distinguish each other’s programs to establish a relationship known as “HDMI handshake”.
• Strange Surround Sound – Assess speaker connections for proper placements as well as the connections of other devices such as your DVD player, satellite box and cable.
If your home theater system still does not work after performing the actions discussed above, this prompts the need to have it checked by electrical contractors.
